What is the classification of economic activity?

The Classification of Economic Activities is a system designed to group types of economic activities within a specific classification framework. It is used in state statistics, tax, customs, social security, and other sectors to ensure consistent data collection, analysis, and comparison among different economic entities.

The main areas where the classification is applied are:

  • Selection of Tax Regime: The CEA code can influence the tax regime applied to an organization or individual entrepreneur.
  • Licensing Processes: Some types of activities require specific licenses, and the CEA code helps to correctly define that activity.
  • Statistics: The State Statistical Committee uses the CEA to collect and analyze data from various sectors of the economy.
